I'm Not Defined By My Age

I hear a lot of statements from actual patients that need to be addressed prior to receiving treatment. These statements all have one thing in common, they are MINDSET problems that create LIMITING BELIEFS.


Following are the statements,

‘I’m too old to build strength’

  • ‘I’m too old to get into an exercise routine’

  • ‘I’ve never had good balance, so I just expect it to get worse’

  • ‘I’ve had Physical Therapy in the past and I never got any better

  • ‘My doctor says that I just have to learn to live with this pain’

Determined by a lot of experience (and backed up by copious amounts of research), the single biggest factor to

successful treatment is the patient believing that the treatment will be successful. What does this mean?

Well, it means that if we go straight into treatment without addressing the patient’s mindset, we could be missing the single biggest factor in helping the patient succeed. So. it will be best to debunk each statement so that you have the right MINDSET when addressing your problems. Stay tuned for posts that will address each of these statements.
